Sara’s art features both quality and highly sophisticated aesthetics, especially visible through her analogue photography work. As a fashion photographer, she is commited to exploring the subtleties of female beauty. At the same time, her women are gentle, strong, confident, raw, passionate and melancholic, reflecting Sara’s emotions and her self recognition. She perceives her artistic process as an emotional exchange between herself and the model, resulting in mutual empowerment. As such, her work provokes the boundaries of commercial fashion photography and is intertwined with a more personal, documentary approach that is nurtured through self-initiated projects.

Her reflective series document Sara’s fixations, obsessions and personal emotional development. This section of her work extends from self-portraiture to still nature and portraits of loved and lost ones. Often times, she tackles the painful and unpleasant in our everyday existence, aiming to transform the ruptures and turmoil into building blocks for personal, as well as artistic growth.
